The evening will begin with the Unwoman (aka Erica Mulkey), San Francisco-based cellist-singer-songwriter. Layered with skillful cello, rich vocals, and beats, her music is a darkly futuristic homage to her classical training:

Site-specific performance with Lizz Roman at Civicorps

    September 15, 2015 | Posted By: | news · performance |

We are proud to compose/perform again with Lizz Roman and Dancers in a site-specific dance located in the Civicorps warehouse across from the West Oakland BART station,
    Sept 11 & 12, 18 & 19 and 25 & 26, 2015:

    CIVICORPS Job Training Center
    1425 5th St
    Oakland, CA 94607

Only Lizz can take an industrial workplace and turn it into a beautiful space (well….maybe Tom Waits could, too). We are selling our latest mini-CD, Beautiful Death, at the show for $5 (it has 3 compositions from the full score).

Dance, music, and video projections will keep you riveted! See Lizz Roman’s production, This Beautiful Space, and become part of the environment as you’re led through the building to experience the art.

Tickets are nearly sold out! Audience space is limited.

    Izzy award nomination

    December 20, 2012 | Posted By: | news |

It’s official.  Watersaw has been nominated for an Izzie Award for our summer 2012 performances with Lizz Roman & Dancers.  We have been nominated in the category “Outstanding Achievement in Music/Sound/Text.”

    More about the award:

The Isadora Duncan Dance Awards, known locally as the Izzies, are awarded annually to acknowledge exceptional creative achievements in the performance and presentation of dance. Awards are given in nine categories to honor the dancers, choreographers, designers, composers, dance companies, dance scholars and other individuals who have made important contributions to the San Francisco Bay Area’s thriving dance community.

During each 12-month performance cycle, running September 1 – August 31, the Committee collectively views over 400 eligible performances. The final nominees and honorees are selected at an annual voting meeting held in September after the close of the viewing cycle.
